Over that time the name of the group has been changed and the personnel have varied as careers and geographic upheavals have dictated. "Soulshine" Soulshine is a 2 man acoustic band that plays an eclectic mix of originals and covers that range from blues, folk, pop, southern rock, country, and soul. "Southern Fried Folk", they call it. Ray Johnson- Originally from Brunswick, Georgia with roots to all genres of music from southern rock, bluegrass, to soul, Ray moved to New Mexico after graduating from Florida State in 1992. Playing a little bit of everything and listening to all kinds of music has helped expand his musical vision and create his sound. Rico Smith- The old man in the band and hailing from Hampton, Virginia, Rico keeps Soulshine kickin' it with his own brand of creative percussion. With no formal music training, Rico used various types of cajon drums to create the right rythms for the style of music being played. His sound and uniqueness adds a whole other dimension to what is Soulshine. |
"RAIDIUM" Raidium is a mixture of different styles that come together to make ONE sound. We live and breathe Las Cruces. We are the guys you see at the parks late at night, hanging out in cars and local stores around town. Our name has changed more times then we can count, but our style has always remained the same. We've been playing on and off since the summer of 08. |
